Frequently Asked Questions

You've got questions. We've got answers.

What is a Brand?

A brand is how people see and feel about a company, product, or person.

It’s not just the logo or name—it’s the overall impression you leave in someone’s mind. It includes things like:

  • How you look (colours, design, logo)

  • How you sound (your tone of voice or message)

  • What people think or feel when they hear your name

A brand is your reputation—what people remember and say about you when you're not around.

What is Marketing?

Marketing is how you connect the right people to your brand and what you offer.

It’s everything you do to:

  • Deliver value to your customers

  • Explain what you offer

  • Connect with your purpose or core values

Marketing is about sharing your value with the world in a way that makes people want to be part of it.

Do I still need to work on my brand if I already have a logo?

Yes, having a logo is just one small (but important) part of your brand. Your logo is like your face, but your brand is the whole personality behind it.

While the logo helps people recognize you, your brand is about the experience people have with you. Your brand is how you show up and make people feel, so it’s worth spending time making sure everything else supports that.

If you don’t have a consistent style, clear message, or a way of making people feel welcome, your brand won’t be strong. People might not remember you, even with a cool logo.

To really connect with your audience, you need to work on things like:

  • The story behind your business

  • Your values and what you stand for

  • The way you talk and engage with people

  • The overall vibe people get when they interact with you

Can I use my name as my brand?

Absolutely, you can! Many of our clients do. In fact using your name as your brand is actually a great choice, especially if you're building a personal connection with your audience or showcasing your skills and expertise.

When you use your own name, your brand becomes you—your story, your values, and your reputation. This works particularly well if you're offering a service or product based on who you are or what you stand for.

But, a couple of things to keep in mind:

  1. Consistency is key. Your name will represent everything you do, so make sure everything aligns with how you want to be seen.

  2. If you’re planning to grow or bring in partners down the line, using your name might make it harder to separate yourself from your business in the future.

  3. If you ever plan to exit your company (I know that may sound wild at the moment!) then perhaps you would like to keep your name. Think Jo Malone being acquired by Estee Lauder.

Using your name can be a great way to build a personal connection with your audience, especially if your work is directly tied to you as a person. Just be clear about the long-term vision for your business.

Why don’t I get clients even though I post on social media every day?

Posting on social media every day is a good start, but getting clients is more about strategy and connection, not just frequency. Here are a few reasons why you might not be seeing results:

  1. Value: Are you solving problems or offering value to your audience? Focus on their needs.

  2. Engagement: Are you interacting with your followers and building relationships? Respond to comments and start conversations.

  3. Call-to-action: Are you guiding your audience to take the next step, like booking a call or making a purchase?

  4. Targeting: Are your posts reaching the right people? Ensure your content speaks to those who need your services.

  5. Strategy: Posting without a clear plan can waste effort. Align your content with your business goals for better results.

Posting every day is great, but value, engagement, and a clear strategy are what will truly bring in clients. Make sure you're connecting with the right people, offering what they need, and guiding them towards taking action.

What is Marketing Strategy and do I need it?

A marketing strategy is a plan to reach your target audience and achieve business goals. It helps you define who you are, who you want to attract, how you’ll communicate with them, and what steps you’ll take to turn them into customers. It includes key elements like:

  • Target audience

  • Messaging and positioning

  • Channels and tactics (social media, email, ads, etc.)

  • Goals and metrics to track success

A marketing strategy is your roadmap to connect with the right people and drive business growth.

Do you need it?
Yes! Without a clear strategy, you risk wasting time and money on efforts that don’t connect with the right people or deliver the results you want. A solid marketing strategy provides focus, direction, and a measurable way to grow your business.

Many of our clients find us after spending significant time, money, and energy on tactics (like websites, networking, and social media) without seeing results, which can leave them feeling deflated. Having a clear roadmap saves you from this heartache and ensures you’re focusing on the right things for your business.

A marketing strategy is essential for targeting the right audience, driving results, and avoiding wasted effort. It’s your roadmap to business growth.

Does having a Marketing Strategy GUARANTEE my business success?

While a marketing strategy is crucial for guiding your efforts and maximizing your chances of success, it doesn’t guarantee business success. Success depends on many factors, such as the quality of your product or service, competition, market demand, and how well you execute your strategy.

A marketing strategy helps you focus your efforts, reach the right audience, and measure your progress—but consistent execution, adaptability, and delivering real value are what will drive long-term success.

A solid marketing strategy increases your chances of success, but it’s not a guarantee. Execution, persistence, and delivering value matter too.

What do you believe is key to business success?

There are several key factors in creating a successful business. From our experience and observations of other entrepreneurs, we’ve found that:

  1. Having a deep purpose for what you do is essential. This purpose fuels your passion and keeps you motivated through the ups and downs.

  2. Creating a clear roadmap to achieve your goals, starting with a strong Marketing Strategy, is crucial. It gives you direction and ensures your efforts are focused.

  3. Financial management is vital, even for non-profits. Understanding your cash flow is necessary for long-term sustainability and growth.

  4. Consistency is everything. Success doesn’t happen overnight. Consistent effort—whether in marketing, product quality, or customer service—builds brand awareness, trust, and loyalty over time.

  5. Continuous learning and development, both personally and in your business, are key. Often, the biggest barrier to progress is mindset. Even the best business can stall if you're held back by limiting beliefs.

In short, success comes from having a clear purpose, a solid strategy, sound financial practices, consistent effort, and a growth-focused mindset.

What is the Enneagram?

The Enneagram is a too that helps you understand different personality types and how people think, feel, and behave. It’s like a map that shows you 9 main ways that people view the world and make decisions.

Each of the 9 types has its own strengths, challenges, and ways of reacting to situations. It helps you understand why you do things the way you do and why others might think or act differently.

Here's an example:
Imagine you have 9 different friends, and each of them handles stress, success, or conflict in their own unique way. Some might get really anxious and retreat, others might be calm and find a solution right away, and some might be super confident and charge ahead. The Enneagram helps explain these differences and shows you which of the 9 types your friend (or you) might be.

The Enneagram is a way to understand yourself and others better by identifying 9 main personality types and seeing how they impact your thoughts, feelings, and actions. It's been a game changer for us in building our relationship within our business and beyond.
